WhatsApp recently bought by Facebook and it is working on it’s alone as a separate entity. Facebook also made many changes and introduced features in Instagram. During the deal with Facebook, WhatsApp told that it will not share any personal information of users with Facebook, but now it is doing so. WhatsApp is pushing the update which shares your personal information like your friends’ list, contact number and other information with Facebook. This would help Facebook to show ads on your Facebook profile and more.

Facebook uses data shared by WhatsApp to show ads interested by the user and it would also show suggested friends list based on your contacts in WhatsApp. Most of the users are not interested in the step taken by WhatsApp and looking for the way to opt out from this. Once you get the WhatsApp update and when you open the app, then it would show the message to accept Terms and Conditions. In the message, it says that it would share your personal information to Facebook. If you agree on it, then it would start sharing your information with Facebook.
Say, in a hurry, you had accepted the terms and conditions. There is also a way to stop this even after this. To do so, go to Settings and then go to Account. Turn OFF the option ‘Share my account info’.
